Meta plans to double its datacenter capacity to 14GW in 2027.
Adding 7GW of capacity in 2027 implies AI-related capex of ~$245 bn, assuming each GW of capacity costs ~$35 bn (Deutsche Bank).
Current analyst consensus for 2027 capex is well below that, at ~$160-165 bn. This jump in spending means the company will be burning more than $50 bn in cash per year.
Growth metrics remain among the best in the market, with a Growth rating of 91/100. However, a cash flow deficit of this size could be punished very severely by markets over the medium term.
